Georgia grabbed the remaining first-place vote, and 1,140 total points. Meanwhile, Virginia, 26-2, was victimized by Maryland 92-68 in the Atlantic Coast semifinals and fell from third to sixth. Southern California, 26-4, which lost to Northeast Louisiana 70-68 still managed to move up a notch and replace Virginia in third place. Louisiana Tech, 23-4, moved up two spots to fourth, while Western Kentucky, 27-3, which also lost to Northeast Louisiana, 88-84, dropped a spot to fifth. Long Beach State, 26-3, held sev enth, while Rutgers, 25-2, held eighth. Louisiana State exchanged places with Auburn, 23-5 and moved uj spot to ninth.
