Authorities found the body of Mitsue Davis, 37, Friday night in the bedroom of the family’s mobile XA/ClIdO home near Pearland, 15 miles southeast of Houston. bv Kevin Thofi Her body, with a gunshot wound to the head, was found on the floor next to her husband. She was still holding a .22-caliber revolver in her right hand, investigators said. Her husband of 17 years, Joseph Keith Davis, 41, also was shot in the head. The couple’s two children, Clif ford Davis, 4, and Michael Davis, 3, were found lying on the floor adja cent to their parents’ bed. Each was covered with a blanket and had been shot from close range, said sherifP s investigator Wayne DuBose. The family was shot either late at night on Jan. 24 or early the next day, said Capt. T.O. Bock. The bodies were taken to the Harris County morgue for autop sies. Mrs. Davis was an outpatient at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston for eight months, DuBose said. Neighbors said that they didn’t suspect anything because Davis, a truck driver, was sometimes gone for a week and the family went with him. Friends of the family said Mrs. Davis had asked them recently if they could teach her how to fire a gun and on two occassions discussed suicide, according to investigators. J.B. Brister, the neighbor who discovered the bodies, said that af ter Davis realized his wife’s mental condition was deteriorating, he dis assembled his .22-caliber rifle and locked it in a closet. Investigators had not determined where Mrs. Davis got the revolver, but suspected that she purchased it in a pawn shop. VWT fiRE YOU looms FOR HIM? ! CAT PCNGd/NSTi WATS PRETTY BIZARRE.
