The win marks the Rocket's sixth straight and gives them a 8-2 record and the lead in the Midwest Division. New Jersey, 6-5, lost its fifth straight game on the road. Michael Ray Richardson lead the Nets with 21 points and Otis Bird song added 20. Tne Rockets never trailed in the fourth quarter and after a pair of baskets by McCray and one by Olaju won, Houston lead 102-95 with 5:13 left. The Nets chipped away at the Houston lead until three buckets by Richardson cut the Rocket advan tage to 110-107 with 37 seconds left.
