THE BREAKFAST CLUB Five

more depressing than nine
hours with four of your non-
closest friends, Funnv thing
though how easy it is to find
friends where you least expect
them Every character will re
mind you of someone you knew
m high school — perhaps even

in town R
PORKY’S REVENGE; The
gang is back Pee wee. Meat and
tne rest are all seniors now If
you thought college semoritis is
bad, w'ait till you see the case
these guys have. The old adage
of “there's just enough time fot
once more' has popped into
their ever-scheming minds. Just
enough time for one more
rank... one more time at Por-
y’s. Unfortunately, Porky has
other ideas, Graduation has nev
er been so wild, or risque PG-13.
THE KILLING FIELDS: Col
umnist Sydney Schanberg (Sam
Waterson went to Cambodia in

porter. His assistant, Dith Pran,
was Cambodian born. When all
Cambodians were ordered out
of the country Schanberg

become known as the killing
fields the interior of Cambodia
This is a verv emotional film that
tells the story of Schanberg and

LADY HAWKE. A pickpocket
(Matthew Broderick) escapes
from jail and hooks up with a
knight (Rutger Hauer) In and
amongst all the bravado,
Broderick becomes the custo
dian of the knight’s woman
(Michelle Pfiffer). Would vou
trust a thief with your most pre
cious treasure? I personally
wouldn't trust myself with
Matthew Broderick. Really a
good movie once the credits fin
ish at the beginning. R.
MASK: Cher gives an incredible
erformance as Rusty Dennis, a
iker and unmarried mother
Her son. Rocky (Eric Stoltz), has
a disease which has deposited
calcium in large amounts on his
skull Their relationship is truly j
memorable. Rocky’s acceptance
of his problem is one that all of
us can learn from. Directed by
Peter Bogdonavich PG-13.
DESPERATELY SEEKING

button fans have been holding m
their stomachs for has made it to

Masters of the Universe, find
He-man’s twin sister, She-ra.
Probably chock full of neat car
toon things and I’m sure that
Cringer shows up a bunch, too.
G
BEVERLY HILLS COP: How
much money can this movie
make? That seems to be the only
question left. Eddie Murphy
stars as a Detroit cop who follows
the trail of a f riend s killer to Be
verly Hills. This is a comedy-
thriller with tons of action and
Murphy is great as always. Only
Eddie coulcl wear the same shirt
throughout Beverly Hills and
not look tacky. Paramount ex
ecutives are already discussing a
sequel. Classic Eddie Murphy
R
POLICE ACADEMY II: Hav
ing outgrossed almost all other
movie comedies, the recruits of
“Police Academy” have gradu
ated to new highs — everything
from crime to hilarity as they
band together once more to pro
tect ancl serve a city where no
one is sate, especially from then;.
R
MOVING VIOLATIONS: As if
“Police Academy II” wasn’t
enough, now we’ve got to con
tend with this one about a driv
er’s eri class full of spastic driv
ers. They won’t get their licenses
back until they pass the God- aw-
fui “last test.” I’m not proud —
this movie just doesn’t look too
terribly interesting to me. But
don’t let me stop you. PG.
THE LAST DRAGON; Barry j
Gordy, of Motown fame, pro- j
duces this one about a young j
practitioner of martial arts who \
reaches the level of “The Glow
Along the way, he is sung to by
Vanity, DeBarge and other
Motown stars. Advance critical
reaction to this one is verv poor
although some say it’s sc bad it's j
actually good. R

STREET: A high school girl be
gins having a recurring night
mare, some guy wuth knives for
fingers is chasing her around the

under her pillow — the hat of
her stalker. Even though the
movie starts out slow the action

tomboy all her life. Now she

Manor East

CAT’S EYE: Stephen King is a.
it again. Dino De Laurentis has a
hand in this one, too Drew Barr
vmore stars in this combination
of of three stories If it is any
thing like the previous plaethora
of Stephen King movies, it s
probably really good and realh
scary Some have compared the
directing to Alfred Hitchcock,
PG-13,
THE RETURN OF THE JEDI:
Actually it’s return of “The Re
turn of the Jedi.” It still has ail
the original thrills and chills of
intergalactic planet-hopping hut
you won’t have to wait in lines
for hours this time It seems this
was re-released to refresh view
er’s memories of the actual plot
of this never-ending “Stai Wars’
saga. PG.
GIRLS JUST WANT TO
HAVE FUN: Sarah Jessica Par
ker (“Footloose’ & “Square
Pegs 11 ) stars as a teenager who is

but study. But, as you all know,
girls just want to Have fun, and
Catholic girls are no exception.
