Winniford gives several tips to dormitory residents: • Students should lock their doors when leaving their rooms. • Residents going out late should walk with someone else. • Dorm residents should be suspi cious of their environment. Students should contact the resident adviser, head resident or the campus police if they see someone suspicious. T nbt names or phone numbers if some one has a wrong number. Instead ask for the number the person wants; then verify if that is the num ber that was dialed. • Students should maintain the se curity measures that the dormitory already uses. Don’t prop the doors open for a friend who’s coming over later or give a combination out. In doing so, a student is risking the safety of other people who live in the same residence hall. “Often there’s too much trust he re,” Winniford says. “People have to realize that not everyone on campus is someone they can trust.” DON’T BE VEIN DONATE BLOOD.
