San Antonio musicians strike
continues in a stalemate
Associated Press
SAN ANTONIO — The San An
tonio symphony strike entered its
third week Monday with no plans
for a bargaining session to end the
stalemate.
The 83-member orchestra went
on strike Jan. 5, demanding higher
salaries and financial parity with
other major orchestras in the United
States.
Carlos Wilson, symphony manag
ing director said he is hearing ru
mors the symphony may be in for a
lengthy strike,
The union, claiming too much of
the symphony’s budget goes for ad
ministration, has asked for raises in
all three years of the proposed con
tract.
