Sliwa, a New York City restaurant manager who formed the Guardian Angels in 1979, Tuesday said he will meet with eight people who invited the group to establish a chapter in San Antonio. The Guardians already have chapters that patrol streets watching for crime in Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth and Bryan-College Station. “We are a third party in the streets,” Sliwa said. “We will physi cally intervene.” Sliwa’s wife, Lisa, a fashion model and active member in the non-profit anti-crirne organization, recom mended forming a San Antonio chapter after visiting the city last year, Sliwa said.
