MSC Aggie Cinema 845-1515 Chariots of Fire: This Academy Award winner will inspire you for days to come. It is the true story of two British runners who were in the 1924 Paris Olympics. Rudder Theatre. $1.00. | |esus Christ Superstar: This is he famous film about the life of Christ. This film uses a new ap proach to reach a younger audi ence. The score to this film is unreal and memorable. G. Friday and Sat urday. Midnight. Rudder Theatre. The Seven Year Itch: You can not miss this classic Marilyn Mon roe film. Tom Ewell stars as the husband who is left alone for the whole summer with Marilyn in the apartment above. Unrated. Wednesday. 7:30. Rudder Theatre. MSC Cepheid Variable 845-1515 Condorman: A | V^ondorman: A comic book writer invents a character and to in sure his authenticity, he acts as the character himself. Short Feature: BUGS BUNNY AND TWEETY BIRD.PG. Thursday. 8:00 and 10:00. The Grove. Plitt Cinema III 846-6714 Against All Odds: This is a film which stars Jeff Bridges, Rachel Ward, and James Ward in a love tri angle. This film depicts the power of Los Angeles and how it almost consumes the main characters. Lucky for the viewers, the main characters escape to the Yucatan which is a fantastic background for the film. R. Romancing the Stone: Michael Douglas stars with Kathleen Turner in this spoof on adventure stories. This is the tale of a soldier of for tune who becomes entangled with a girl from the big city. Danny De Vito is also a part of this wild trea sure hunt. PG. Hard to Hold: Heart-throb, Rick Springfield, stars in this movie aoout the difficulty a rock star has conducting a love affair. The movie has a few shots of Springfield on stage and the movie would not be complete without a few songs from the Teenage Idol. PG. Post Oak 764-0616 Moscow on the Hudson: Ro- bin Williams, as Vladimir Ivanoff, is a Russian circus musician who goes to New York with the circus. While in Bloomingdale's, Ivanoff defects to the United States. This is a com edy, but it also reminds every American that they live in a country where anything is possible. R. The Big Chill and Educating Rita: This double bill is going to be great. The Big Chill is about the re union of a group of college friends from the sixties and Educating Rita is about the relationship between a college student and her professor. PG. Swing Shift: Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell star in this movie which is set during the years of World War II. Goldie Hawn is the wife of Navy man and aids her country by working on an assembly line. Hawn meets up with Kurt Russell when she begins to work. Because of her work and her meet ing with Russell, Hawn develops and changes. Russell is an aspiring musician who falls in love with Hawn. These two are also joined in the movie by Belinda Carlisle of the Go-Go's. PG. R. Skyway Twin Drive-In 822-3300 Risky Business: Tom Cruise stars as a teenager who changes his lifestyle when his parents leave him alone for a week. R. Angel: This is the story of the straight A highschool student who also walks the streets at night. R. Screwball: This movie is light and full of lightweight entertain ment.R. All the Right Moves: Another Tom Cruise movie, but in this one he plays a football player. R. Schulman Six 775-2468 Police Academy: This is the story of an American city where the mayor abandons all eligibility re strictions to enter the police aca demy. Steve Guttenberg stars as the officer candidate who tries to get himself thrown out of the aca demy and falls in love with a female officer candidate at the same time. R. Footloose: 1984's answer to Flashdance. Kevin Bacon, of Diner fame, stars as the free-style dancer from Chicago who moves to a small town. Of course, he is not wel comed with open arms by the town elders and the town minister is es pecially repulsed by him. But the minister's daughter has different ideas about the new kid in town. This film will be remembered for the dancing and the music. PG. Wh, tere the Boys Are: Lisa Hart man and Alana Stewert are seen in this film, almost to the point of ex posure. This is a movie that ex plains why all the girls run down to Ft. Lauderdale for the summer. Be cause ... that's where the boys are. R. Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter: This is the movie that promises that Jason, the insane killer who has brutually murdered scores of people in the first three Friday the 13th movies, will finally get what is coming to him, but only after he has been on a demonic rampage gruesomely killing many of the visitors at the lake. They say this is the final chapter, but can we believe that this is actually the end of Jason? R. Terms of Endearment: Shirley Maclaine and Jack Nicholson along with Debra Winger star in this heart-wrenching story. If you have not seen this movie yet, don't miss your chance. R. Up the Creek: Tim Matheson stars in this movie about a wild and crazy river race. This seems to be a light-hearted movie that will simply entertain you. R. Manor East 823-8300 Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes: This new Tarzan film concentrates on the duality of the Tarzan character. John Clayton, the seventh Earl of Greystoke, was adopted by an ape colony after he had been tragically orphaned in Equatorial Africa by his human parents. Tarzan grew up to become the leader of this ape col ony. Tarzan is then rescued and re stored to his proper place in so ciety. The former earl's American ward falls in love with Tarzan, the man who is part noble and part sav age. PG. Splash: Director, Ron Howard, has a new film starring Tom Hanks, of Bosom Buddies fame. In this pic ture Hanks falls in love with a beau tiful woman. But there is some thing fishy about this relationship. The woman is a mermaid. The most aquatic romance of the year. PG. Iceman : Timothy Hutton stars in this movie about the discovery of a primitive man that has been frozen for thousands of years. Somehow the man is brought back to life and Hutton fights for the man's rights. Everyone wants to own him, but Hutton believes he should be free. PG.
