In fact, they haven't just equaled Sweet Dreams, they've improved upon it. critics have started calling her the best female singer in rock, which is a big overstatement, but as long as attitude counts for more than expression she may keep them fooled. This album really gets mov ing on some of the more up tempo cuts like "Right by Your Side." The mature of the heavy new wave sound with a calypso background provides a chance for a little more light-hearted music, a nice break from the usual mood. The Eurythmics have kept most of the same topics from their last album — love, passion and the overall lack of both. One of the best examples from this, set is "No Fear, No Hate, No Pain," in which Annie has some octave jumps that you will either hate or love. What ever the outcome, you know this girl is taking big chances putting them on a pop album.
