V/f/AGE ON THE CREEK Wellborn and Old College Road Chi Omega sorority, Saturday. The variety show of local groups and organizations is held each year by the Chi Omega chapter in support of its charity, the Brazos Rehabilitation Center. Terri Reek, co-chairman of Songfest, says the organization made $3,000 last year and ex pects to take in about $4,000 this year. All profits will go to the year. All protits will go to tl Brazos Rehabilitation Center In an effort to make the show more professional, auditions were held this year. “We decided to have them because the length of the per formance in the past was two and a half plus hours and we wanted to cut it down,” Reek said. Better organization of the groups also prompted the audi tions. Of the 12 acts that au ditioned, 10 made it, she said, but the two that won’t be in Songfest dropped out on their own. Each group will be judged on the quality of its singing and dancing. “This year it was only soror ities and fraternities who en tered,” Reek said, “but it is open to everyone.” Mary McNair, who works with promototionsfot ga, said she hopes or| other than sororities nities, such asdormsoi the Corps of Cadets, t\it: involved in the future “We promote itt Songfest, she said call it ‘Chi Omega Soi With “Razzle Daztlt' theme, Songfest acts “Jeepers Creepers” to nade” to “Arthur’s ‘ “If I Were Not An Reek, a senior m major from Newt Conn., said with lOatt mg and closing number Chi Omega sorority an non-judged acts in ben year’s show should two hours.
