Meanwhile, Food and Drug Administration officials in New York said a woman died Oct. 17 at the Brooklyn Kidney Center while hooked up to a faulty di alysis machine identical to the one that malfunctioned in Dal las. But the FDA stressed the mechanical failure was not the same in both cases.
