One of the center’s primary goals, Leigh said, is to serve stu dents interested in retailing careers and to serve the needs of retail firms by providing them with outstanding graduates. Many career opportunities available to business graduates now and in the future involve retailing, Leigh said. This has created a need at most universi ties to do a better job of prepar ing students for retailing careers, he said. The center will bring retailing executives to Texas A&M to work with the students and fa culty — providing a bridge be tween the University and the re tailing community, he said. Programs to bring retailing executives to the campus in clude an executive-in-residence program, an annual retailing career fair, special topic sympo sia, a student recruiting prog ram and retail research and fa culty development programs. Zale, the second speaker in the series, attended Texas A&M and Southern Methodist Uni versity.
