Wiatt, director of security and traffic, says. “Operators of bicycles when they are on the roads have to operate as a vechicle operator,” he says. “They have to stop at a stop sign. They have to stop at a red light. When a pedestrian is in the pedestrian crosswalk, they have to stop and allow that § pedestrian to pass.” Other bicycle vi elude: •Not violations in having a permanent or regular seat attached to the bicy cle frame. •Carrying more persons on the bicycle than it was designed for. •Riding on the wrong side of the road. •Not riding single file except on paths set aside for exclusive bicycle use. •Riding encumbered, unable to have one hand on the hand lebars. •Riding without a head light and a rear reflector at night. •Riding without a brake. Landrum, a senior aerospace engineering major from Flint, has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. The scholarship was based on outstanding academic achieve ment. Landrum has a grade point ratio of 3.94 and works2fl hours each week at the Texas Engineering Experiment Sta tion’s wind tunnel. Singing groups to hold auditions All four Texas A&M vocal groups will hold auditions Mon day through Sept. 9. The groups are: the Century Singers, a mixed choir; the Reveillers, a mixed jazz ensemble; the Singing Cadets, an all male group; and the Women’s Chorus.
