Every few weeks, the people at the Gold Coast Railroad Museum stage an elaborate train robbery along the 5-mile route of its 1926 vintage train. “What they kind of do is wait behind the trees in the park, come out from the trees and make a lot of noise,” said Walt Locke, president of the museum. “We have a little gun- fight out there, capture the rob bers and take off. “We always capture the rob bers. Paul Dirmeyer, a sophomore meteorology major, is the artist ol a new comic strip R.L, which will run in the Battalion two to lour times a week. Fhe strip will be a comic por trayal of life on the Texas A&M campus, fhe personalities of the eight characters in the strip are based on Dirmeyer s friends in F.l Paso, and he uses t hose perso nalities to show how the charac ters react to events on campus. Dirmeyer began drawing the strip last year, but this will be the first time the strip will he pub lished. He said he starts by writing the dialogue, then decides how to fit it into four frames. Once that is completed, he does the actual drawing. The drawing was the hank part at first, he said, but hen enjoys that part. Hesaidilm takes about an hour to draw frames.
