American primary topic in a “Foundation stones for a new history of business-government relations” by Louis Galambos, a Johns Hopkins University his- Galambos will outline his book, “America at Middle Age,” and offer historical perspectives on current controversies re garding the roles of business and government in society. Galambos was editor of the papers of Dwight D. Former Dallas Cowboy quarter back Roger Staubach also had been asked, but had too many other engagements and the coordinators said they still are trying to get someone famous to come. Nussbaum said he recently received a letter from a group called ACTION in Washington, D.C., who along with the Presi dent give out 20 volunteer awards each year. The letter included a nomi nation form for the Big Event, and, Nussbaum said with a grin, The Academic Council will consider proposals for restruc turing the council at its regular meeting at 3 p.m. today in 601 Rudder Tower. Recommendations proposed by an internal committee in clude reducing council member ship by eliminating elected members, redefining the func tions and responsibilities of the council to focus on administra tive matters and moving several standing committees from the Academic Council to the prop osed faculty senate. The Council also will discuss the establishment of a faculty senate. If established, the senate would consist only of elected fa culty members and would absorb some of the Academic Council’s duties.
