Hallie Bryant, who played on the Globetrotter team for 11 sea sons and is now the advance publicity representative for the team, was here last week prom oting the Globetrotter game at G. Rollie White Coliseum on Feb. 1. In the summer when he’s not promoting the team, Bryant has nis own one-man Globetrotter show. He performs a comedy act at conventions and malls. “The one-man show has allowed me to continue to work in the capacity of an entertain er,” Bryant said. He said people enjoy the Globet rotters because the team does more than just play basketball. The team incorporates football, baseball, ballet and comedy into their game so people don’t have to understand basketball to have fun with the Globetrotters, he said. “How the Globetrotters make people feel is intangible,” he said. “Something like Santa Claus is to a child.” The popularity of the Globet rotters has remained about the same, Bryant said, but media ex posure has increased. “Who doesn’t think about the Globetrotters when they hear ‘Sweet Georgia Brown’ being played?,” he asked.
