A Dallas jury decided Friday that the stock, which was issued in 1888 and is now worth about 4 million, had been used as par- [ial repayment on a $15,000 ebt owed by Joseph Decker, a ankrupt investment banker, nd awarded ownership of the mificate to the estate of a New dork industrialist who made the Bank vault in 1977. Documents found with the stock linked it to the $15,298.48 loan from DeLamar to Decker. The Dallas jury had to deter mine whether the certificate was collateral for the loan or partial repayment. If it had been colla teral, Decker’s heirs still would own it, pending repayment of his debts. “I think morally we all wanted to give the money to the Decker people,” said juror Charles Rosenkranz. “But legal ly, we had to decide the way we did.” Lawyers for Decker said they intend to ask District Judge Craig Enoch to set aside the rul ing by the jury as contrary to evidence. been pulf1890 loan. boards, r hotels M ll no- sl t include ii*| i Dallas,^ Houston^ e direcMfl i Tulsa, i* rt and tW own ai»l in Los. nand is) ilternati' f Lang gnizing 1 t nation*] sling owed i |l fj soniet' 111 ] , the ® l | i in die* est to ^ ; ci Die®!] 1 by the !': knees® 1 ] n both tj . in th' mdothej it.
