A matinee per formance will also be held Dec. 8 at 3 p.m. Sponsored by MSC Town Hall, "Annie" is based on the popular comic strip, "Little Orphan Annie," and is set in New York City during the depths of the Depression. Eleven-year-old Annie attempts to escape from the municipal orphanage and the clutches of the alcohlic. Miss Hannigan. After being caught and re turned to the orphanage, Annie is rescued by "Daddy" Warbucks' secretary and taken to the billionaire's man sion. Warbucks uses all of his money and power to help Annie find her long lost pa rents. Annie's constant optimism and unyielding faith in "Tom- morrow" win the hearts of everyone she meets, includ ing the President of the Un ited States. Art sale If you missed this week's, craft fair at the MSC, don't de spair. The City of College Sta tion is hosting a Christmas Festival and Open house Saturday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Community Center. Pastel demonstrations, a collection of miniatures, natu ral wood wreaths, exhibits by the Brazos Valley Symphony, Brazos Valley Museum, Embroider's Guild will be fea tured. Entertainment includes performances by the A&M Consolidated Honor Choir, the A&M Consolidated Jazz Ensemble, the Carter Creek Bluegrass Band and StageCenter. A 10-foot Christmas tree adorned with folk art orna ments also will be on display at the Community Center be ginning Sunday. Houston concerts Enjoy music? Try the Summit. The Summit in Houston has booked the following groups for December and January: Aerosmith on Dec. 27; Willie Nelson on Dec. 31; Barry Manilow on Jan. 13 and Tom Petty and the Heart- breakers on Jan. 28. For more information, call (713) 961-9003. Anderson to perform Country-western singer John Anderson will perform at Graham Central Station Sunday night. To go along with Ander son's song "I'm Just an Old Chunk of Coal (But I'm Gonna be a Diamond Someday), the Diamond Room and Graham will give away a V2 diamond during the performance. Anderson also sings "I Love You a Thousand Ways" and "I Just Came Home to Count the Memories." Tickets are $5, but everyone who arrives at the club before 6 p.m. gets in free.
