CUBS 7, EXPOS 5 — At Montreal, Leon Durham’s two- run pinch hit homer in the eighth inning enabled the Cubs to hand the Expos their fourth straight loss. The defeat drop ped Montreal 6'/? games behind first place St. Louis in the NL East. DODGERS 5, ASTROS 4 — At Los Angeles, Pedro Guerrer o’s two-run, bases-loaded dou ble with two out in the 10th in ning lifted the Dodgers to vic tory. BRAVES 6, REDS 1 — At Cincinnati, Claudell Washing ton’s two-run double highlight ed a four-run second inning and Pascual Perez pitched two-hit re lief over the the final 6% innings to spark the Braves. GIANTS 4, PADRES 3 — At San Francisco, Tom O’Malley singled in Jack Clark from third base with one out in the 1 1th inning to power the Giants. With one out, Clark walked and went to third on Darrell Evans’ single. O’Malley then lined a single to right off loser Luis DeLeon, 7-5, to make a winner of A1 Holland, 6-3. MINNESOTA 9, ROYALS 4 — Gary Gaetti belted a grand slam to help the Twins complete a sweep of the three-game series against the Royals. ANGELS 5, BLUE JAYS 1 — At Toronto, Bruce Kison, 9-7, tossed a four-hitter and Rod Carew tripled and scored the go- ahead run to lead the Angels. BREWERS 14, YANKEES 1 — At Milwaukee, Paul Molitor’s three-run homer and Gorman Thomas’ two-run blast high lighted a nine-run eighth that led the Brewers, the leaders in the AL East. It was the Yankees’ eighth loss in a row. ORIOLES 4, INDIANS 2 — At Baltimore, Rich Dauer hit a two-run homer with two out in the 10th to help the Orioles keep pace with Milwaukee.
