Man who threatened Reagan loses probation United Press International LAKEWOOD, Colo. — A man convicted of threatening President Reagan’s life has been arrested for violating his proba tion by failing to participate in a mental health program. Authorities said Edward M. Richardson, 23, of Drexel Hill, Pa., was arrested Friday. He was placed in Denver County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bond. Richardson, who reportedly shared accused presidential assailant John W. Hinckley Jr.’s obsession for actress Jodie Fos ter, was arrested April 7, 1981, while en route from New York City to Washington carrying a .32-caliber revolver. Letters later found in his motel room in New Haven, Conn., indicated Richardson planned to try to kill Reagan, Secretary of State Alexander Haig or Sen. Jesse Helms, R- N.C. One letter said “Hinckley was only the beginning.” It also said: “I will finish what Hinckley started. R.R. must die.” “Ultimately, Ronald Reagan will be shot to death and the country turned to the left,” the letter said. Richardson pleaded guilty last July to two counts of threatening the president’s life and was sentenced to one year in prison and five years’ probation. He was required to take part in a mental health program as a con dition of probation. M-F 9-5:30 Sat. 9-5 (>((< Fine Jewelry at a Fine Price NE1F MANAGEMENT CELEBRATION Mr. Kay Has Done It!
