The large flowers have been spotted in Five locations in the state. However, Mike Lanna, Forest Service supervisor, said the orchid is common in Louisiana and is on no endangered or rare species list. Lanna said he does not intend to move \he drilling pad. “If we moved it to another spot, they’d probably Find some other plantthere they wanted to saved,” he said. A spokesman for the driller, Thomas D. Coffman Inc., of Austin, said the pad has to be in that exact location because of “the highly technical aspects of the drilling we ate doing.” \ JEFF’S PERFORMANCE CENTER Tune-Ups ★ Carb Repairs Starters ★ Alternators Clutches ★ Brakes General Auto Repairs Performance & Efficiency Mods Stock & Custom Engines Corvette Repairs Of All Types Hi-Performance Parts & Ac- ★ All Work Fully Guaranteed 821-4934 1801 Cavitt — Bryan staff photo by Peter Rochij The American angler Freshman Steve Leach works on his fishing techniques during his P.E. angling class Leach is a petroleumi engineering major from Houston.
