The national sophomore orga nization also attempts to promote traditions and activities and en courage fellowship through ser vice to the campus communitv. “We’re really less of an honor society and more of a strong fel lowship and service project group,” Sue Lednicky, Lambda Sigma vice president, said. One way Lambda Sigma mem bers do this is by meeting several times each week with a faculty member to exchange ideas and in formation about their services. The members take feedback from the faculty and fill out forms, which are given to the Universi ty’s Academic Council. Lambda Sigma, along with the Junior Hon or Society, were asked by the Academic Affairs Committee of Student Government to take part in this project. Distribution of signs publiciz ing activities for student organiza tions is another of the group’s pro jects. Poster routes include 160 “University news only” bulletin boards in 28 dorm and academic areas, excluding Sterling C Evans Library and the Memorial Stu dent Center. Any recognized student organi zation can use this service by sub mitting at least 160 copies of post ers to Lambda Sigma at the Stu dent Programs Office, 216 MSC. The weekly deadline to get post ers distributed is noon Monday. Lambda Sigma members are chosen at the end of their fresh man year depending on high school record, involvement in ex tracurricular activities, personal character and leadership and ser vice abilities. Requirements also include a 3.25 grade point ratio, plus a 15- hour course load for the first semester. Filing deadline is in March. Last year 50 students were chosen for membership from more than 400 applicants.
