Dr. Francis Loewenheim V 1 advised Duke University adminis- Itifttrators to determine which of Nix on’s papers will he available to the public before agreeing to house a proposed Nixon library. "It’s no use becoming a very celebrated storehouse for records which nobody can see,’ said opletk Loewenheim, author of ions a Roosevelt and Churchill, Their Secret Wartime Correspond ence.” He said: “I am not sure the people at Duke understand what it is they may be getting and the circumstances under which they may be getting the materials. Nix on’s associates cannot guarantee what they will be able to hand over. There has been dissent about operating a Nixon museum. "The point about the Nixon museum is irrelevant, Loewenheim said. “They have museums in every presidential library where I’ve been. At these museums they have nothing more than memorabilia. The people who come to them are high school students and tourists. That’s fine.” Loewenheim’s research disco vered that President Eisenhower secretly taped conversations in the Oval Office starting in 1953, and that President Truman twice considered dropping an atom bomb on China and the Soviet Un- ion during the Korean War. _but. sm,Tf\ADc pn bent tmaough the TEXAS EASTMAN COMPANY DIVISION OF EASTMAN KODAK COMPANY LONGVIEW, TEXAS A Major Manufacturer of Chemicals and Plastics Will Be On Campus Monday, October 5 - Thursday, October 8 Interviewing Majors in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Accounting, Computer Science (Engineering), Business Computer Science, Chemistry.
