This Act, with which the University intends to comply fully, is intended to protect the privacy education records, to establish the rights of students to inspect and review their education records, provide guidelines for the correction of inaccurate or misleading data through informal and formal hearia? Students also have the right to file complaints with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act Office the Department of Education in Washington, D.C. concerning alleged failures by the University to corf with the Act. Local policy explains in detail the procedures to be used by the University for compliance witti * provisions of the Act. Copies of the policy can be obtained at the Office of the Registrar, located in Heat Hall on the Texas A&M University campus. The names and address of the student’s parents 5. The student’s major field of study 6. The student’s class schedule 7. Participation in officially recognized activities and sports by the student 8. Weight and height of members of athletic teams 9. Dates of attendance, degrees and awards received 10. Previous educational agencies or institutions attended by the student 11. Sex, nationality, race and age of the student 12. The student’s photograph 13. Achievement awards or honors 14. The student’s class standing 15. Parking permit information The University will release “directory information" to third parties unless the University receives fi# written objection to such release in accordance with the procedure herein described. Students who wish to have “directory information” withheld must complete the appropriate form iP'; Registrar’s Office by Friday, September 18, 1981. Students who have requested information witiitie i! ' the past must renew their request each year within the first three weeks of the fall semester. The student must realize that approximately one month is needed to remove this information <■ materials already in circulation. However, the campus directory is printed only once a year, and a' : printing, no information can be removed.
