The 13-foot frog was found in the backyard of a San Antonio family’s home, but the family does not know how it got there. The famous Muppet, star attraction of the San Antonio Wit te Museum’s “The Art of Mup- pets” show, was hanging outside the museum. Authorities noticed it missing Friday. Mabel Lopez noticed Kermit hanging around her backyard Saturday. Museum officials were puzzled about its disappearance because they say the giant frog would not be easy to walk off with. “It’s the only one like it in the world. Of course, we want to get it back,” said museum spokesman John Regnier. The 13-foot tall Kermit was owned by Muppet creator Jim Henson. The scholarship is a travel and maintenance grant which will pro vide Kresta with the opportunity to use some of his academic ex perience overseas at a host institu tion. “He will make a good represen tative of this school and of this na tion overseas,” said Mona Risk- Finne, Texas A&M foreign study adviser. Kresta plans to graduate this summer from Texas A&M before leaving for the 10-month study in Fiegen, West Germany. Kresta, who has studied Ger man for seven years, says he was most influenced by his German teacher in high school, who helped develop his interest in the literature and the language. U.S. District Judge Robert Porter Friday denied the family access to files on SEC officials’ dis cussion of the Hunt brothers’ alleged attempts to limit govern ment investigation of their in volvement in last year’s silver market fiasco. Porter said detailed disclosure of the SEC discussion would “un necessarily intrude into the intei-j nal decision-making processes (fj the agency.” However, the judge also ruled the SEC must provide Nelson Bunker Hunt and William Her bert Hunt the names of all fii cial institutions from which SEC sought investigation inter- mation.
