Dr. George B. Wilcox, ‘ The grand old man of
Texas education,” died Monday night in Dallas at
the age of 91. i
Wilcox served for 50 years in public education
— 40 of them at Texas A&M University. He was a
professor and the head of the Department of Edu
cation and Psychology when he retired in 1959.
“His greatest achievement was his leadership
in educational administration,” said Dr. Paul R.
Hensarling, professor emeritus of educational
administration. “He was just what the name®
