The seminar is high priority with the Texas Commis sion on the Arts and the Texas Assembly of Arts Coun cils, said Don Buzzingham, extension recreation spe cialist with the Texas Agriculture Extension Service. The seminar will be held in the Memorial Student Center at Texas A&M University Tuesday through Thursday, and is open to all students and faculty of A&M. It is designed for people involved with an arts council, arts center, community orchestra or museum. “It was found that people on the arts councils were very competent in the arts but they didn’t have the necessary training in management and business,” Buz zingham said. The seminar is co-sponsored by the Texas Commis sion on the Arts, the Texas Assembly of Arts Councils, the Texas Agriculture Extension Service and the Texas A&M University Department of Recreation and Parks. Topics to be presented at the seminar include “Accounting Principles and Cash Management,” “Budgeting Funds,” “Public Relations Tools and Tech niques,” and “Fund Raising.” Exhibits held in conjunction with the seminar in clude “The 20th Century American Indian — Tradition in Handicrafts” in the MSC Gallery Jan. 12 through Feb. 1; the sculptures and drawings of Paul Suttman in the Rudder Exhibit Hall Jan. 28 through Feb. 24; a display of publications from the Texas A&M University Press in the display case adjacent to the MSC Gallery Jan. 26 through Feb. 1; and the Brazos Valley Youth Art Show in the Brazos Center Jan. 23 through Jan. 30.
