Aggie women fall toTSU, 76-65 By JON HEIDTKE Battalion Stall' Texas Southern University, be hind the 30-point performance of Nerissa Redo, dealt the Texas A&M women’s basketball team its first loss of the young season by the score of 76-65 Monday night in Houston. Coach Cherri Rapp simply called it a case of intimidation. “Our girls were intimidated by their size and quickness,” she said, “the main reason for it was due to the team’s inexperience.’ “We took poor shots, shot too fast and had some terrible passes on the fastbreak,” said the second-year coach. “I hope experience will take care of all these problems. ” Rapp said, that defensively the Aggies played a good overall game. “Texas Southern didn’t run their of fense more than twice all night, she said. But TSU captilized on break downs in the Aggie press and used a sizable rebound margin to score many an easy bucket, in dropping A&M’s record to 1-1. Despite the loss, Rapp singled out senior Tammy Grafton for her inside play. Grafton turned in strong over all performance and chipped in 12 points. Rapp said “that is the best I’ve seen her play since she has been here.” Sherry Winn led the Aggies in scoring with 16 points and Trigg Crawford added 12 points. But the heroes of Friday night’s win Cathy Fuller, Kelley Sullivan and duRae Gill could only muster 17 points be tween them after combining for 56 in the season opening win. Rapp said good times are ahead for the Aggies. “They work harder then any team I’ve ever coached,” she said. “When these girls make a mis take, they realize the problem and work to correct it. They can’t help but to get better.” HEY SENIORS! Get your elephant t-shirts for Elephant Walk (Mon.
