EVENTS Austin Special Events Center: 1701 Red River. The Houston Ballet will present “Papillion” on Sept. 26 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $7, $10 and $12. Barry Manilow will appear on October 6, also at 8 p.m. Tickets for Manilow are $8.00, $10.00 and $12.50. Elton John will perform live in concert Oct. 15 at 8 p.m. Tickets, which go on sale at the Special Events Center at 8 a.m. Saturday, are $8.50, $9.50 and $10.50. Huntsville Prison Rodeo: The 49th annual Texas Prison Rodeo will start on October 5, featuring music by Ray Price. Tickets are $4, $5 and $6, and can be purchased by mail. Other rodeo performers will be: Ernest Tubb and Faron Young, Oct. 12; Billie Joe Spears, Oct. 19; and Moe Bandy, Oct. 26. Dallas-Fort Worth Symphony: Virgil Fox, an organist, will be one of the featured soloists when the Dallas Symphony performs Sept. 26 and 27. The symphony is conducted by Eduardo Mata. Magnolia Renaissance Festival: The Texas Renaissance Festival will be open every Saturday and Sunday from Sept. 27 through Novem ber 2. It features a 16th Century English village complete with a race track, merchants, food, knaves and royalty of the period. Washington Octoberfest: Taking place Oct. 4 and 5, a weekend of German food and music. There will be a street dance, square dance demon strations, a German dress contest, quilting demonstrations, and music by the Mountain Vagabonds, the Trailriders and the Sauer krauts Polka Band.
