Aitrot Terry Puhl United Press International SEATTLE — Gaylord Perry pitched a six-hitter and struck out 10 and Mickey Rivers and Richie Zisk drove in two runs each Wednesday to lead the Texas Rangers to a 6-3 triumph over the Seattle Mariners. Perry, the leading winner among active pitchers, picked up his 284th career victory while raising his sea son record to 5-6. He allowed just one walk through the first three in nings. Juan Beniquez led off the fourth with his third homer of the season. The Mariners scored again in the fifth on singles by Jim Anderson and Bob Stinson with Anderson scoring on Mario Mendoza’s double-play grounder. Perry allowed the third run in the ninth. Everyone is welcome, and admis sion is free for all Texas A&M Uni versity students, faculty and staff and their families. A student or recrea tion ID or pool pass is required, however, and all guests without cards will be charged $1; children will be charged 50 cents. In other intramural news, entries for second summer session intramu ral sports will open July 10, with seven events offered — slow pitch softball, three-man volleyball, three- man basketball, tennis doubles, handball doubles, racquetball sing les, and golf doubles. w*m*m*mm*m**m0 by Mickey Rivers and a run- producing single by Buddy Bell. The win moved the Rangers’ re cord to 36-39, 8Vz games behind the red-hot American League Western Division-leading Kansas City Royals, who also won Wednesday, beating the Minnesota Twins, 4-3. Texas is currently in third place in that division, Vk-game behind the Chicago White Sox and 3Va ahead of the fourth place teams, Seattle and Minnesota.
