Buyers get priority on seats
Town Hall passes on sale
by GAIL WEATHERLY
Battalion Reporter
Option passes for the 1980-81 fall
and spring semester MSC Town Hall
concerts are on sale for $10 at the
Rudder Box Office. The option pas
ses give regular concert-goers a
priority period in which to purchase
a reserved ticket for a particular seat
before tickets go on sale to the gener
al public.
The option-pass program began
last year, but many students did not
have the opportunity to buy them
then.
“A major complaint we’ve re
ceived is that option passes last year
were sold during the summer,”
Michael Parkman, chairman of MSC
Town Hall, said.
That is why they are on sale before
this semester ends. The sale begins
Monday at 9 a.m., and will continue
until all 1,400 available passes are
sold.
A line of approximately 100 people
waited in front of the box office Mon
day morning and 522 passes were
sold in about half an hour, a box office
employee said.
There is no longer a line, and as of
12:15 p.m. Tuesday, 570 passes had
been sold.
The option pass has some major
advantages over the season pass.
Parkman said. It allows Town Hall to
raise ticket prices for a special attrac
tion, whereas season ticket prices are
fixed.
“If we didn’t have option passes,”
he said, “there is no way we could
have had concerts like the Beach
Boys or Anne Murray. This gives us
more flexibility in booking shows. ’
Also, option passes “give us

In the event of rain, the entire
Piranhacon will be postponed until
Saturday night.
Barbershop
quartet, local
group to sing

Houston barbershop quartet, will

der Theater, sharing the stage with
the Bryan-College Station Commun

TWO WEEKS!
Famous U.S. Women
Ski Team Diet
During the non-snow off season the
U.S. Women’s Alpine Ski Team mem
bers go on the “Ski Team” diet to lose
20 pounds in two weeks. That’s right
20 pounds in 14 days! The basis of the
diet is chemical food action and was
devised by a famous Colorado physi
cian especially for the U.S. Ski Team.
Normal energy is maintained (very im
portant) while reducing. You keep
“full” — no starvation - because the
diet is designed that way. It’s a diet
that is easy to follow whether you
work, travel or stay at home.
This is, honestly, a fantastically suc
cessful diet. If it weren’t, the U.S.
Women’s Ski Team wouldn’t be per
mitted to use it! Right? So, give your
self the same break the U.S. Ski Team
gets. Lose weight the scientific, prov
en way. Even if you’ve tried all the
other diets, you owe it to yourself to
try the U.S. Women’s Ski Team Diet.
That is, if you really do want to lose 20
pounds in two weeks. Order today.
Tear this out as a reminder.
Send only $2.00 ($2.25 for Rush Ser

money in the bank before we get
started,” Parkman said.
If a person owning an option pass
decides not to attend a concert, he or
she simply doesn’t buy the ticket for
that particular concert and it will be
put on sale to the general public.
Other reserved seats not assigned for
option passes will also be sold to the
general public.

someone who can work tor us in this capacity for several years to come. No “rags to riches"

If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, fill out the coupon below and
mail it today.
I am interested in learning more about being your
