The option pas ses give regular concert-goers a priority period in which to purchase a reserved ticket for a particular seat before tickets go on sale to the gener al public. The option-pass program began last year, but many students did not have the opportunity to buy them then. “A major complaint we’ve re ceived is that option passes last year were sold during the summer,” Michael Parkman, chairman of MSC Town Hall, said. That is why they are on sale before this semester ends. The sale begins Monday at 9 a.m., and will continue until all 1,400 available passes are sold. A line of approximately 100 people waited in front of the box office Mon day morning and 522 passes were sold in about half an hour, a box office employee said. There is no longer a line, and as of 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, 570 passes had been sold. The option pass has some major advantages over the season pass. Parkman said. It allows Town Hall to raise ticket prices for a special attrac tion, whereas season ticket prices are fixed. “If we didn’t have option passes,” he said, “there is no way we could have had concerts like the Beach Boys or Anne Murray. This gives us more flexibility in booking shows. ’ Also, option passes “give us Piranhacon shows five worst films “Piranhacon,” a festival present ing five films billed as the worst ever made, begins at 9 p.m. Friday in the Grove and runs through Saturday morning. Presented by MSC Aggie Cinema, all tickets will cost 50 cents and will be available at the Rudder Box Office and the Grove ticket office. The concession stand will be open during the festival. MSC Aggie Cinema sponsors suggest those who attend bring lawn chairs and blankets. The five films and their starting times are: -— “Muscle Beach Party,’’ 9 p.m. “Piranha,” II p:m.‘ \uijcji! — “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts’ Club Band,” 12:45 a.m. — “Mothra,” 3 a.m. — “I Was a Teen-Age Werewolf,” 4:50 a.m. In the event of rain, the entire Piranhacon will be postponed until Saturday night. Barbershop quartet, local group to sing “The Sound Arrangement,” a Houston barbershop quartet, will perform Saturday at 8 p.m. in Rud der Theater, sharing the stage with the Bryan-College Station Commun ity Singers. Tickets will be available at the door for $2 per person and $4 per family. Among the pieces presented by the Community Singers will be “Frostina,” a classic, vocal group arrangement by Randall Thompson. >oo Battalion Classifieds Call 845-2611 g >00000000 LOSE 20 POUNDS IN TWO WEEKS!
