CLASSIFIED ADSi idu: Air!::: By LOUIE ARTHUR Battulion Stuff The Bluebonnet Psychiatric Cen ter changed ownership Wednesday and is now called the Greenleaf sychiatric Center. The change involves more than a change in name, however. Bluebon net was bought by Psychiatric Cen ters International, Inc. (PCI), a private organization, and now be comes a private psychiatric hospital. It had previously been funded by federal grants. The federal money an out this year. Bluebonnet received an eight- fear staffing and operating grant,” aid Don Sweeney, a member of Greenleafs board of directors, ex- aining the center’s financial diffi- ulties. “These grants are designed to support the hospital until it can msorb the costs on its own. After the grant ran out. Bluebonnet didn’t ave enough business to stay on its feet.” The sale of the psychiatric hospi tal raised $525,000 and the money go into a trust fund. The inter- from this fund will be used to the mental health services, primarily for the care of indigents. This interest will amount to about 1-50,000 per year in addition to the $30,000 provided by the State Board of Mental Health and Mental Retardation, Sweeney said. This imount doubles the old budget for indigent care. Greenleafs new administrator, Cay Sanders, sajd they will “give the building a face-lift. We re in the process of deciding just exactly how much we ll do. Sanders said they plan on re novating the interior and exterior and adding more recreation and ac tivity therapy space including possi bly a g pool. When the re modeling is finished, she added, Greenleaf will he “a first-class pri vate clinic. Greenleaf will still have all the same services, Sanders said, but they will concentrate more on in- 3N—Reseat! patient care - We are retaining all THERE’S STILL TIME TO PREPARE " -H Call Days Evenings & Weekends Educational Center TEST PREPARATION SPECIALISTS SINCE 1938 For Information About Other Centers In More Than 80 US Cities & Abroad Outside NY State CALL TOLL FREE: 800-223-1782 Classes starting August 15 (minimum enrollment required) 707 Texas Ave., Suite 301 C College Station, Tx. 696-3196 11300 N.
