AGGIECON X: Cepheid Variable’s annual science fiction conven
tion will run today through Sunday. It will feature films, speakers,
art displays, panel discussions and many other events.
AGGIECON X: “Logan’s Run.” (1976) Michael York and Peter Us
tinov star in this film which portrays life in the 23rd century,
where no one is allowed to live past 30. At 7 p.m.
AGGIECON X: “Barbarella.” (1968) Jane Fonda stars as a detec
tive in the year 40,000 who is assigned to locate a missing
scientist. At 9:30 p.m.
TENNIS: The women’s team will compete in the UT-Austin In
vitational Tournament in Austin through Saturday.
Friday, March 30
AGGIECON X: “Rollerball.” (1975) James Caan and John House
man star in this study of the 21st century in which the world is
dominated by six megacorporations, and the only outlet for ag
gression is Rollerball. At 7 p.m.
AGGIECON X: “The Exorcist.” (1975) Linda Blair and Lee J. Cobb
star in this thriller about a 14-year-old girl who is possessed by a
demon and experiences fear and anguish during the attempted
exorcism. At 9:10 p.m.
AGGIECON X: “Collisions.” (1978) Lily Tomlin, Gilda Radner and
Dan Aykroyd star in this combination of animation, song and
dance in which the Earth is on a collision course with another
planet, and it must be determined whether Earth is worth saving.
At 11:15 p.m.
AGGIECON X: “Countdown.” James Caan and Robert Duval star
in this story about a crash program to send an astronaut to the
moon before the Russians do. The astronaut lands and must
survive until the U.S. can send an Apollo to the moon. At 12:50
a.m.
BASEBALL: The team hosts Baylor at 3 p.m. in Olsen Field.
GYMNASTICS: The team will participate in the AIAW National
Championships at Penn State University today and tomorrow.
Saturday, March 31
AGGIECON X: “Stepford Wives.” (1975) Katharine Ross and
Paula Prentiss star as two women who try to raise the con-
sciousness of women living in a suburb, and make some
bizarre discoveries as to how the husbands make their wives so
docile. At 7 p.m.
AGGIECON X: “Flesh Gordon.” (1974) A re-edited version of the
original X-rated film, this depicts Flesh’s struggle to regain the
stolen power pasties and destroy the evil sex ray, which is dev
astating the Earth. At 9 p.m.
AGGIECON X: “Day of the Dolphin.” George C. Scott and Trish
Van Devere investigate the behavior of dolphins, especially the
possibility for interspecies communication with them. Success
results in a conspiracy to use the dolphins to assassinate the
President. At 10:20 p.m.
AGGIECON X: “The Power.” (1968) George Hamilton and
Suzanne Pleshette star in this story about a strange psychokine-
tic force that can move objects, direct electricity and control or
kill humans, and must be stopped before more are telepathically
killed. At 12:10 a.m.
BASEBALL: The team hosts Baylor for a doubleheader, which
begins at 1 p.m. in Olsen Field.
TENNIS: The team will host the University of Texas at 1:30 p.m.
LAWNMOWERS: The Mechanized Agriculture Club will holds its
annual Spring Lawnmower Clinic from 8 a.m. until dark in the
Power and Machinery Lab.
Sunday, April 1
FOLKDANCERS: The TAMU International Folkdancers are hold
ing an open party from 7-10:30 p.m. in the MSC Ballroom.
Visitors can learn traditional dances from all around the world.
Monday, April 2
OCEANOGRAPHY: Jack Corliss, an oceanographer, will speak on
thermal activity in the Galapagos Rift at 3:30 p.m. in Room 601
of Rudder Tower. He will discuss the biological, chemical,
geological and oceanographic aspects of undersea hot springs.
GOWNS: Caps and gowns become available today at the MSC
Bookstore. They cost $8.
Tuesday, April 3
AGGIE CINEMA: “Macbeth.” (1972) Roman Polanski directed this
film adaptation of Shakespeare’s tale of murder, guilt and re
venge. At 8 p.m. in Rudder Theater.
TENNIS: The team will host Southern Methodist University at 1:30
p.m.
PLANT SCIENCE: The club will hold a meeting at 7:30 p.m. in
Room 103 of the Plant Sciences Building.
Dottsy
Texas recording artist Dottsy will try out her new single, “Try-
in’ To Satisfy You,” April 7 when she comes to the Texas
Hall of Fame in Bryan. She is one of country music’s rising
stars, and continues to satisfy her fans with her original style
of music. Dottsy was born in Seguin and has been perform
ing since she was 10 years old. Her recording career began
in March of 1975 with a single, “Storms Never Last,” and
soon after she recorded her first album, “The Sweetest
Thing.”

When the Society for Creative Anachronisms holds
a meeting, it is like a day out of the past. The group
is dedicated to reliving events as they were so that
the memory of them will not die out, and from the
look of things they are doing a fine (and fun) job.
Focus is published every Thursday as an
entertainment section of The Battalion.
Policy: Focus will accept any stories, drawings or
photographs that are submitted for publication, al
though the decision whether to publish lies solely
with the editor. Any pieces submitted, whether
printed or not, will be returned upon request. Dead
line is 5 p.m. the Friday before publication.
