She advises the same remedy for boils. She said her mother used mul- len leaves gathered from woods and wilted in hot water for sore throats. There are things that should be changed. I don’t think this is one of them. Sen. J.E. Jumonville said the Legislature had rushed the bill through the session despite legal problems he said would cause couples to stampede to court. Others agreed the measure needed more technical work, but indicated it could be amended in the next legislative session since the bill wouldn’t go into effect until 1980. They also warned that the U.S. Supreme Court was preparing to review Louisiana’s head and master law and, if the provision was struck down, the state could be left with no law governing management of community property. 2018-22 TEXAS AVENUE LONG & SHORT DRESSES LADIES SHOES 823-0630 BRYAN N (feUNNEt K SAX <4 riic claimnf ms. al| polist d that 'vJ ill sed<i city.-'’ r pcrsi i lad |*J • bougfj i.lls,” Sun Theatres University 846 The orily movie in town Doubtf-Feature Every Week Open 10 a.m.-2 a.m. Mon.-Sat. 12 Noon - 12 Midnight Sun No one under 18 Escorted Ladies Free BOOK STORE & 25c PEEP SHOWS 846-9808 Serving Luncheon Buffet Sunday through Friday 11:00 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. $3.50 Top Floor of Tower Dining Room Sandwich & Soup Mon. thru Fri. $1.75 plus drink extra Open to the Public “QUALITY FIRST" Carter ‘hopeful’ of Mideast peace THE BATTALION paae 5 THURSDAY, JULY 6. 1978 ** Ztrpfnamba Eddie Dominguez '66 Joe Arciniega '74 United Press International WASHINGTON — President Carter says he’s “hopeful.” So does Vice President Walter Mondale. That word was the closest either man came Tuesday to assessing the chances for progress toward Middle East peace at the forthcoming Lon don foreign ministers’ meeting. Carter took time off from his 10-day vacation at Camp David to fly down in late afternoon to watch the national fireworks from the Truman balcony and meet for 40 minutes with Mondale, who re turned early Tuesday from a trip to the Middle East. The two discussed the Egyptian peace plan, which was to be trans mitted to Israel today, but they de clined to disclose details or to say whether it enhances chances of Middle East peace. Mobbed by reporters as they emerged from the White House to greet family members and aides on the White House lawn, Carter said: “Mondale gave me a good report. He had a good trip.” The vice president said he would not characterize the Egyptian plan at this time, but said he was “quite positive” Israel will attend the Lon don foreign ministers conference that Mondale helped set up. “They will probably announce it after a Cabinet meeting this week,” he said. He said he also considered his trip successful, but added, “the dif ficulties there in trying to find peace cannot be overestimated.” “We’ve got to have peace in the Middle East, he told reporters. “It’s so important to Israel and her neighbors. There have been four wars . Our nation is going to do its part to try to overcome the differ ences and the gaps and do it in such a way that it leads to greater security for Israel.” He also said, “Personally, Em hopeful, but I realize it’s very dif ficult.” After getting back to Camp David and being unable to land because of the low visibility, the president’s helicopter landed on a baseball field in nearby Thurmont, Md., and he was driven up the mountain. Rosalynn Carter and her mother, Mrs. Allie Smith, returned with him, but Amy remained at the White House. Details of the Egyptian plan were due to be disclosed today.
