The Bullets raced to a 121-117 triumph for their first victory ever at HemisFair Arena Tuesday night, evening the best-of-seven series at one game apiece. noon. “We came here knowing we had to win at least one. Now they ve got the same situation facing them up there.’ More importantly the victory al lowed Washington to steal the home court advantage from the Central Division champions who had won the series opener 114-103. “I liked the situation we were in when we came down here,” Wash ington Coach Dick Motta said as his team prepared for homecourt stands on Friday night and Sunday after- Spurs Coach Doug Moe admitted the monkey now is on his team’s back because the Spurs have to beat the Bullets at least once in Landover to win the series, but he added that San Antonio was capable of accomplish ing that feat. “We can’t worry about the split,” Moe said. “We have to come back ready to play. We’ve come back all year long and now we’ve got to do it again.” Although Washington held a 21- point lead late in the third quarter Tuesday night, George Gervin ex ploded for 17 points in the final period and the Spurs moved within two points with 1:33 left before the rally fizzled.
