Boone, director of Texas A&M s Singing Cadets. Boone will sing the feature role Elijah of the oratorio based on the Bible s Old Testament prophet. Sponsored by the Memorial Student Center Arts Committee, it will be presented at 8 p.m. each night in the Rudder Theater. The master work performance' also combines efforts of the 86-voice Century Singers and the 43- member Bryan-College Station Chamber Orchestra. A bass baritone, Boone brings tal ents to Elijah that have been pres ented on radio and television and in serious musical works. He is known for performance of spirituals and popular pieces with the Singing Cadets. Boone s previous work has in cluded oratorios, selections from masses and operatic pieces. He has performed in Handel’s "Messiah here and in Houston. Margaret McArthur directs the Century Singers, mixed chorus of Texas A&M students. Dr. Johnson has worked with the local orchestra several years and is a member of the Sam Houston State music faculty.
