By BETH CALHOUN
Trustees of the A&M Consoli-

londay agreed to release Houston
chitect Bruce Simmons from a
jI intract on the high school field
0I! rase project. The decision was
ade at the board s regular meet-

Simmons will remain the ar-
litect for the other remodelling
ojects. He was released from his
ntraet because he was unable to
psign the field house within the
nount of bond money available,
rail! pproximately $123,000 in bonds
allocated for the field house.
The board agreed to let local con
tractors submit proposals within the
allocated budget. These will be
presented to the board building
committee for consideration.
The board will choose one of pro
posals and ask for bids to be submit
ted on the proposal.
Once a proposal is accepted, the
plans for the project will he drawn
up by another architect.
In related action, the energy
committee’s motion to adopt a
boiler and distrubtion system for
heating failed on a 3-3 vote.
The system would have been for
the new fifth and sixth grade facility
and a vocational building at the high
school.
This system would have allowed
the school to change from one fuel
to another if prices became too high.
The current fueling system uses gas.
While the new boiler would also
have used gas, it would have
enabled the school to change to
solar energy if a world system is de
veloped.
Converting to the new system
was estimated at $58,(X)0 more than
originally allocated.
In closed session the hoard ex
tended the one-year contract of
principals and vice-principals to two
years.

Hi
„• ■ *** ■ ;
All you do is write a check.
At most banks the procedure for getting a loan is pretty simple: All
you need to do is call for an appointment, drive to the bank, see a
loan officer (after a short wait), explain your plans, complete some
paperwork, etc.
The procedure for a Bank of A&M Cash Reserve customer is even
simpler: All you do is write a check.
Cash Reserve is a pre-arranged line of credit for Bank of A&M
customers. It’s easy to qualify for, and the credit you establish is
yours to use on a revolving basis over and over.
No gimmicks. And absolutely no cost — until you write yourself a
loan. And the best part: repayment is automatically deducted from
your checking account monthly (at terms and amounts you
authorize in advance). No coupon books, no late payment fees.
For cash reserve checking, see the Bank of A&M. We’re more
than a bank because you’re more than a customer.
