Energy’ in the Feb. 15-18 Student
Conference on National Affairs
(SCONA) at Texas A&M University.
SCONA has been an annual event
at Texas A&M since 1956. The con

topic of major national concern and
asks student delegates to assess and
fully understand the problem before
attempting any solution.
“In view of America s current
energy situation, SCONA 23’s topic
is highly appropriate,” said Chair
man Brad Wakeman of Bryan. “An
in-depth analysis of government,
political, private and corporate in
volvement will be made. Thus, del
egates can explore energy policy al
ternatives the U.S. might pursue.”
A SCONA 23 study guide goes to
delegates, who are urged to read
widely on the topic before arriving
at Texas A&M. Government, busi

present further views and opinions
at the conference.
