‘Drink-off set in San Diego
United Press International
[ SAN DIEGO — The San Diego
nvention and Visitors Bureau
iolds a “drink-off” Thursday to
Sleet the potion it hopes will put
|e city on the boozer’s map.
The bureau sponsored a contest
bartenders to create a city drink,
imething that would put San
jiego up there in the league with
ie “Singapore Sling and the
Manhattan.”
Sixty entries were received, the
ireau said Monday, but more than
two thirds were rejected because
they were too complicated, would
cost too much to make, or bore the
names of individuals.
The drink-off will feature the 17
finalists mixing candidates such as
the Baja Bullet and the Pink Padre.
