The Coast Guard said Douglas Ezell of Prescott, Ariz., was rescued unhurt from the Cessna 210. H e was taken to West Jefferson General Hospital and released after a brief medical examination. The plane clipped a 250,000-volt power line as it descended, causing a temporary loss of electricity in some neighborhoods near the land ing site. The Aggies defeated its nearest rival, Clemson Univer sity, by 26 points. Third went to the University of Arkansas and fourth to North Carolina State University. Dr. C. B. Ryan of the A&M Poultry Science Department, team coach, said Ira Brister of Orange Grove was high point in dividual in the breed selection division and second high pointer in the entire contest. Bill Hopkins of San Antonio was eighth high individual in the overall contest, and Francisco Cantu of Mexico was ninth high. A third member of the team is Fred Williams of La Marque. Ryan said the contest was di vided into three divisions — production, breed selection and market products. The A&M team won first in breed selec tion, and fourth in production and market products. The nine teams competing in the event represented land-grant universities from throughout the United States. Alpha Zeta awards Aggie scholarship Bryan/College Station Meats judges win Twen ty - two agricultural stii- dents on 19 university cararaes including Texas A&M University received Alpha Zeta scholarship awards recently. Those schol arships were granted by the Na tional Alpha Zeta Foundation of America, Inc. The Foundation is a charitable arm of Alpha Zeta, a professional fraternity in agricul ture with chapters on 64 univer sity' campuses in the United States and Puerto Rico. Sandra J. The Aggies also retired the rotating American Hereford As sociation Plaque as the high team in the special beef classes. A&M had three team mem bers in the top 10 high point in dividuals of the overall contest. They were Stephen Wythe, second; Tracy Holbert, fourth; and Greg Gossett, eighth.
