Miller.” College Station’s representative in the U.S. Congress, Olin E. Teague, was scheduled to speak but wasn’t present because of congressional energy business. His wife brought his speech, however, and John M. Prescott, vice president for academic affairs, delivered the remarks. “A&M is advancing on all fronts,” Teague wrote. “A&M is not just my school. . . It belongs to the nation. " Teague said A&M is a “contributor to the welfare of our country.” Student Body President Robert Harvey represented the stu dents in greeting Miller. Dr. John Knox, president of the Association of Former Stu dents, made a pledge of support on behalf of that group. Chancellor Jack K. Williams presided over the inauguration ceremonies. Susan Miller, one of thd president’s daughters, played the musical prelude on the organ with the Aggie Band, directed by Joe T. Haney, providing the processional and recessional music. Professor Robert L. Boone led the national anthem and “The Spirit of Aggieland” and the Rev. Bob E. Waters, minister of the A&M United Methodist Church, offered the invocation, the Rev. W.C.
