Peirce, the state’s most prolific
adult mystery writer, has been
honored for the seventh time by
the Honor Roll of Best Detective
Stories of the Year, a compilation
considered the creme de la
creme of the genre.
Peirce’s inclusions this year
was based on his short story
“Time Bomb’’ which appeared
last fall in Ellery Queen’s Mys
tery Magazine.
“Time Bomb” was the 14th
story of his to be accepted by the
magazine. It will be translated
into Dutch, said the writer and
teacher who is about to begin his
31st year at Texas A&M Univer
sity.

nio has been honored for his con
tributions to the 1975 Apollo-
Soyuz Test Project while he was
a Texas A&M University co-op
student.
Winkler held cooperative
