They average two years younger than the national norm for beginning medical students and rank higher scholastically. Dr. William E. Ward, the col lege’s associate dean for student af fairs said the average age in the 32-member class was 20 and an av erage grade point ratio of 3.83, based on a 4-point system. The mean average is 3.55 nationally and 3.48 for Texas.
