SUITE 407 DALLAS, TEXAS 75231 (214) 750-0317 in College Station 846-1322 Moody College, and the School of Marine Technology was authorized as one of its three component units. Dr. William H. Clayton, Moody College superintendent, noted that the name under which the college has been operating was designed to emphasize both the “marine’’ and “maritime aspects at the time of its founding in 1971. “Th is dual concept is now well recognized and the college firmly established in its respective fields,” he added, and the long designation is cumbersome and somewhat re dundant. The current Department of Marine Sciences was redesignated the School of Marine Technology. It will include the Departments of Marine Sciences, Maritime Biology, Maritime Systems Engineering, and General Academics. Changes approved by the* Coor dinating Board did not affect Moody College’s other two major cimd nents, the Coastal Zone Labway and the Texas Maritime Acadeul other than transferring the Gen«J Academics Department from llj academy to the newly desi school. In matters pertaining to Ted A&M’s College of Veterinml Medicine, the Coordinating approved the university’s requestj separate one department into tn| and merge two others.
