By DERBY KRENEK Battalion News Editor The Aggies’ desire for revenge was not enough to overcome the height of the Texas women’s team, as the Longhorns won the rematch 80-74. Texas’ 5’8” Pat Mokenna, 5T0” Retha Swindell and 5’8” Kim Bas- singer put together an inside pass ing game that A&M was unable to defend. “The Longhorns were working their screens very well and with their extreme height, those screens were hard to overcome,’’ coach Kay Don said. The Longhorns led the Aggies by as much as 14 points until Texas sent in their second string. The Ag gies closed the gap to six with 29 seconds remaining in the game, but time ran out before they had a chance to get off another shot. “The Longhorns were quick, but we were usually able to keep up with them,” Coach Don said. We played very aggressively and made up for our lack of height with hus tle.” The Aggies shot only 33 per cent of their field goal attempts, but hit on 71 per cent of their free throws. Texas shot 52 per cent from the floor and 62 per cent from the line. Sally Morisse and Pat Bond led the scoring for the Aggies with 16 points apiece.
