The Aggie women’s rugby team
finished their first season last
weekend by defeating Dallas 16-6.
The women ruggers final record was
8-2-1, including a 12-0 win against
Austin the previous weekend.
The women utilized a strong de
fense with hard hitting and quick
pursuit in many of their victories this
season. Their inexperience was re
placed with hustle and enthusiasm.
The season was highly successful
for the women in tournament play
taking third place in the Mardi Gras
Tournament, and second place in
the Austin Tournament. These tour
naments had excellent competition
with the women showing well in
each.

The ruggers, having only been or
ganized this semester, are looking
forward to an even better season in
the fall now that they have some ex
perience. Unfortunately the ruggers
will have to do without the talents of
Sarah Hardwick and Vicki Horan,
due to graduation.
All women interested in playing
next fall can meet the second week of
school on the Main Drill Field.
