He left with quite a execute well. Ricky Wesson is an Emory Bellard went to the Cot- ]j st extremely dangerous quarterback, ton Bowl last Saturday to catch a “SMU has a fine football team as and their defense played a fine game look at the SMU Mustangs to see they showed Saturday. They ve got last week against a fine Texas of fense,’ Bellard said yesterday at his weekly press conference. The Aggie boss expressed honest concern for the Pony team that has won only three times this season against five setbacks. “They’re going to be hard to stop and hard to move the ball against, he said. “Early in the year they had some problems getting people in the places that they wanted them in but, they’ve got that all set now, and I d have to think that they were im pressed with the performance last week over some of their past per formances, Bellard added. Bellard noted that SMU running back Wayne Morris was one of the key factors in SMU’s strong showing last week against Texas. Morris gained 202 yards to become the all- time SMU rushing leader. “He’s got everything you want in a running back,” Bellard said. “He’s got fine body balance, he’s got good size and he s fast, what else do you need? The Aggies will be without the services of starting tackle Jimmy Dean who cut his hand last Friday. Bellard announced that David Bar rington will start in his place. “He 11 have a tough assignment against the fine SMU line,’ Bellard said. “He hasn’t had much playing time and he doesn’t quite have the quickness of Dean but he 11 do a good job. The Aggies moved up to number four in the nation this week. That’s the highest the Ags have ranked since a year ago going into the SMU contest. Last year with a number four ranking and a sure bowl bid under their belts the Aggies slipped on the wet Cotton Bowl turf 18-14 and with it slipped out of the bowl picture. Bellard doesn’t see any revenge this Saturday. “I don’t think that has anything to do with it,” Bellard said. “This is a different year. “One thing I will say about that game last year and the game this week is that we are a whole lot heal thier than we were last year,’ Bel lard said. Aggie running backs Ronnie Hubby, Skip Walker and Bucky Sams were all injured going into the SMU game last year. SMU will enter the game with no serious injuries, just the bumps and bruises that go along with the game. "I’d like to help, but I’m just one person?
