Relatives of Schweitzer to lecture next week 1 Louis Gohmert M ’75 class agent Dr. Albert Schweitzer s daughter and son-in-law will give lectures here next week in their only appear ance in the Southwest during the year-long centennial observance of the Nobel Peace Prize winner’s birth in Germany. Rhena Schweitzer Miller, who succeeded her father as head of the West African hospital he founded, and Dr. David C. Miller, her hus band and nutrition epidemiologist, are scheduled to appear Tuesday and Wednesday. Aside from American appear ances during the observance, the couple has also attended cere monies in Oslo where Schweitzer was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize 22 years ago. Mrs. Miller will speak at 8 p.m. Tuesday on influences and con tributions of her father. Dr. Miller lectures at 4 p.m. Wednesday on what can be done about world hunger. Both lectures are in Rudder Tower. Dr. Miller is affiliated with the HEW Center for Disease Control in Atlanta, Ca. The appearance of the Millers is being jointly sponsored by the TAMU Department of Philosophy, Graduate College Medical Education Program and Great Issues program. Louis B. Gohmert Jr. of Mt. Pleasant has been elected 1975 class agent by this year’s graduat ing seniors. Gohmert was chosen at the As sociation of Former Students sen ior induction banquets Monday and Tuesday, attended by more than 85 per cent of the Class of ’75. As class agent, Gohmert will represent TAMU’s 95th graduat ing class on the Association coun cil. It includes representatives from each chartered A&M club, each organized class and 39 desig nated areas and world. of Texas, the nation The council is the Association's governing body. This should be done prior to March 12th in order for all records to be checked to determine ring eligibility. Students already having ninety-two (92) completed hours on record may order at any time since regular orders are sent in at the end of each month. Graduate students are eligible to order with proof (receipt) that they have filed for graduation. Orders for mid semester will be taken by the ring clerk starting March 24, 1975 and will continue until Mav L 1975 at 4 p. m. All rings must be paid for in full whfcn the order is placed. Students will save time if they will bring grade reports along when ready to order. Students who fail to leave their names in advance will be asked to return later to allow time for records to be checked. The rings are due to arrive at the registrar s on June 17, 1975. All rings ordered, regardless of whether on March 24, 1975 or May 1, 1975, will arrive at the same time. The ring clerk is on duty from 8 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. of each week, Monday through Friday.
