AUSTIN (AP) — Los Angeles Rams running back Jim Bertelsen said Monday he has not been con tacted by the National Football League about an investigation into his ownership in an Austin restaurant-bar where former Texas quarterback James Street was ar rested on gambling charges last month. “Theonlythingl know about thisis what I read in the newspaper,” he said. “I called the Rams today and theysaidtheyhaven’theardanything about this either.” “Comparing Common Interest with Bachelor’s Illis like comparinga mountain and a molehill and Bachelor’s III is the mountain.” NFL Commissioner Pete Rozelle ordered Namath to dissolve his in terest in Bachelor’s III in the face of evidence that the bar was frequen ted by known gamblers. The New York Jets quarterback had threatened to quit football rather than sell out, but he eventually did sell his portion of the club. The incident which brought Bertelsen’s partnership in Common Interest to prominence was the Feb. 14 arrest of Street by Austin vice squad officers in the bar’s kitchen. He was later charged with one felony, promotion of a gambling operation, bookmaking, and two mis demeanors, gambling and posses sion of gambling records. FINANCIAL ACHIEVEMENTS, INC.
